Orange Slime in Tank – Is My System Failing?

I noticed orange/reddish slime buildup in my ATU tank during my last inspection. The contractor said this was common but I’m worried my system is failing. He said it costs $8,000 to replace and I’m panicking. Is orange slime normal? Should I be concerned? Has anyone else dealt with this?
